With our latest update, uploading documents is now faster, smarter, and easier to manage in Objective Connect!
Objective Connect’s document upload experience has been enhanced to make uploading faster, more intuitive and better aligned with how teams organise their files.
Driven by user needs, this update introduces a flexible upload dialogue that preserves folder hierarchy and allows users to minimise the interface while uploads continue—making it easier to stay focused and productive.
For example, councils uploading complex project documentation can now preserve folder hierarchies without flattening, making it easier to manage uploads and ensuring documents appear in the workspace exactly as intended.
Here are three standout improvements that make uploading more intuitive:
Preserve folder hierarchy - Keep the hierarchy intact from upload to workspace
When you upload folders, Connect maintains their original hierarchy throughout Folders appear in the upload dialogue just as they do on your device—and stay that way once uploaded to your workspace. For example, a team uploading quarterly reports will see folders for Q1, Q2, and Q3 appear exactly as organised locally, avoiding the need to rearrange after upload.
Collapsible folder view - Review and manage your uploads easily
Uploaded folders now appear in a collapsible list within the dialogue, making it easier to manage large uploads. For example, a council uploading community project documents can collapse completed subfolders while other files continue uploading—keeping the upload process clear and organised.
Minimise while uploading - Keep working while your documents upload in the background
The new upload dialogue can be minimised, allowing you to continue using Connect with focus. You can return to the dialogue at any time to check progress or review the documents being uploaded. For example, a project manager can start uploading a large batch of documents and continue reviewing workspace activity or adding comments—all without disruption.
Additional Enhancements
We’ve introduced several improvements to make uploads more intuitive and efficient:
No Duplicate Documents: Documents already added to the upload dialogue are not included twice if the same documents are added again, thus avoiding duplicates during the upload.
Order Retained: Uploads start in the order documents are added; prioritise by adding urgent documents first.
Retry with Ease: Re-upload failed uploads without re-uploading the whole list.
Dynamic Cleanup: Remove individual documents you do not wish to upload from the upload dialogue, and folders are removed automatically when all their documents have been deleted.
