Every council is required to produce a Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) that details the strategy for all the services that directly affect children and young people in the area. The plan sets out the improvements that the council intends to make to ensure the well-being of children and young persons. In conjunction with Child Trust partners and other key stakeholders, the plans focuses on the specific challenges and priorities for the local area including:
Whilst the creation of the CYPP is the responsibility of the Children’s Directorate, input and guidance is provided by a number of other areas of the local authority. Including: housing, transport, planning and leisure; as well as a number of other agencies that are concerned with economic prosperity, skills and regeneration. This greatly complicates the development of a holistic CYPP strategy, as its creation involves a broad range of people, often spanning multiple departments and organisations.
Our shared platform for Policy Lifecycle Management provides a cost effective and coordinated approach for local authorities and their partners to develop their CYPP. Delivered through a secure portal, our solution provides a common collaborative environment for all key stakeholders involved in the CYPP to manage the end-to-end process, from collaboration and document production through to consultation, analysis and reporting, ensuring the successful delivery of a compliant CYPP – on time and to budget.
