With over 21,000 students and 3,000 staff (academics and administrative staff) a vast amount of information is created on a daily basis. The sheer task of managing this information in a coherent way, let alone using it effectively, was proving particularly challenging to the university.

Initial work on this local perspective has been undertaken on behalf of the Local CIO Council by Socitm’s Futures group and has led to the development of a practical routemap for ‘pan-local’ public services reform enabled by ICT, known as ‘Routemap for Local Public Services Reform - enabled by ICT.’
