Position Overview

The Associate Technical Consultant is a key part of the Objective service delivery model, being a member of the Objective team in the technical installation and configuration of ECM solutions.  Typically reporting to a Project Manager or Senior Technical Consultant, the Associate Technical Consultant will provide and/or assist with technical installations and associated tasks.
Associate Technical Consultants are adaptable, being keen to develop skills across specific components of the Objective delivery methodology.  They are seen as being key support for senior Objective Consultants in configuring Objective to meet client business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery:  Responsible for delivery of the technical components within projects such as;
  • Implementations
  • Upgrades
  • Customisations
  • Integrations
  • Migrations
  • Solution Configuration – Responsible for configuring the Objective product suite to conform to the documented solution design as well as making evolutionary improvements to the solution through prototyping the solution with the customer.
  • System, Functional and UAT Testing – Responsible for the implementation of test cases and detailed scripts to support customer functional and user acceptance testing.
  • Ownership: Take accountability for assigned work and meet delivery timeframes
  • Global Practice Contributions:  Contribute to the Objective’s Global Practicece knowledge base.

Technical Competencies
Essential:

  • Database: Knowledge and experience with Relational Database Management Systems such as Oracle or SQL Server. Knowledge of SQL.
  • Operating System: Exposure to general use and administration of Microsoft operating systems (Windows Server 2003/2008, Windows XP/Vista/7). Exposure to Unix (Solaris) is also beneficial.
  • Programming experience in at least 1 of the following:
  • C/C++
  • Java
  • .Net

Preferred:

  • Web Services (SOAP, REST, XML, JSON)
  • Exposure to Active Directory (LDAP)

Experience

Essential:

  • Degree qualified in an Information Technology discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a technical support or consulting role.
  • Experience in implementing technical solutions over the past 2 years. During this time it would be expected approximately 5-6 implementation projects would have been completed.

Prefered

  • 2-3 years in a technical consulting or enterprise support role.
