Position Overview

The position of Senior Business Consultant is to provide expert business consulting activities for Objective solutions, across both the ECM and Online platforms, and is a key role in the Objective service delivery model. Reporting to the Regional Practice Leader a Senior Business Consultant may take on a number of business projects and work in roles that range from high-level advice to on-the-ground management of a business consulting team on a major project.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced Workshop Facilitation – conducting a broad range of workshops in areas beyond core methodology, often requiring preparation of materials and templates not otherwise available through the methodology. Obtain workshop outcomes where a variety of stakeholder interests (often conflicting) exist.
  • Requirements Analysis – analysing customer business processes as a precursor to solutions design. Ensure alignment of business processes to associated policies, and identify areas of (mis)alignment to the Objective product suite. Identify changes to project scope arising from the analysis and bring these to the attention of the Objective Project Manager.
  • Solution Design - In conjunction with Technical Consultant/s you will be responsible for architecting a design solution which satisfies the customer's documented requirements.
  • Solution Configuration – configuring the Objective product suite to conform to the documented solution design as well as making evolutionary improvements to the solution through prototyping the solution with the customer.
  • Data Migration – planning data migrations, including analysing the data mapping between legacy systems and Objective and advising customers on data cleansing actions. You will also be required to liaise with Technical Consultants for executing migrations.
  • Testing Strategy – Responsible for the design of project testing strategies, including functional, integration and UAT testing approaches.
  • Advanced Training – training customers in advanced aspects of the Objective product use and product administration.
  • Global Practice Contribution – Ensure continuous improvement in the "way we work at Objective" through contribution to Global Practice and contribution to the Business Analysis forum.
  • Customer Satisfaction – managing the personal relationship with the customer to ensure long-term relationships are enabled. You will also be required to execute assigned tasks within the methodology framework, on time and to satisfactory quality.
  • Team Leadership – leading a team of Business Consultants engaged on a project to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables within the methodology framework.
  • Health Checks – Conduct product healthchecks with existing customer installations to ensure the solution is being used in an optimal way.
  • Sales Support – providing support when required to the Objective Sales team in responding to RFT questions within the Consultant’s area of expertise
  • Personal Utilisation is a key responsibility with an individual goal of greater than 70% billable utilisation.

Actively participates in and contributes to professional communities within Objective. Develops and utilises a network of cross-functional contacts within their regional practice to achieve objectives.
  • Task management and delegation - Plans tasks and projects and defines the resources needed for achievement of deliverables. Anticipates potential problems and develops contingency plans to avoid them.
  • Organisational Alignment – Considers the impact of decisions/actions beyond the boundaries of own team and builds networks of contacts that can help in attaining goals. Identifies specific decision makers and influential persons, and knows when and how to engage them.

Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years general commercial IT experience.
  • Minimum 2 years business analysis or consulting experience.
  • University Degree Qualified, ideally in Business and/or Technology.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 1 year UML or similar process modelling experience.
  • Minimum 1 year data modelling experience.
  • End-user training delivery experience.
  • Significant participation in functional, integration or UAT testing on at least one project.
