The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for establishing and communicating Objective’s technology vision and will play an integral part in shaping the company’s strategic direction and growth. We are seeking an experienced technologist that loves technology, thrives in a collaborative environment and is driven to build great products.

Objective’s server infrastructure is based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and provides a scalable, high availability, secure and flexible deployment model. Our technical environment is Java application development, wide integration through Web Services to our Enterprise Service Bus, and increasing use of open standards and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, articulate, and drive Objective’s technology vision and ensure that the vision is aligned with the business strategy
• Evangelise the technology vision to customers, partners, staff and the executive team
• Engage with our customer’s senior technical executives, industry analysts and partners
• Identify, evaluate and select technology platforms
• Continually improve processes and assist to implement best practice in software development

Competencies and Experience

• Ability to interpret technology and market trends and define Objective’s technology direction to support Objective’s business strategy
• Extensive experience architecting scalable, robust, secure, multi-tiered applications
• Extensive knowledge of hardware platforms, enterprise software, open source technology, database systems, networking and security
• Strong understanding of Java application development (Java, JSP, JavaScript, HTML), Open Source frameworks, XML, WebServices, web standards and internet protocols
• Ability to clearly articulate technical challenges, goals and solutions
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive. Demonstrated ability work under pressure and achieve stretch targets in a fast paced technical environment
